Providing the most essential human need - the need for food- when it matters the most.

While the South Texas Food Bank receives food assistance through the USDA’s Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP), these commodities alone are not enough to meet the full nutritional needs of the families we serve.
TEFAP foods help provide a foundation of support; however, they do not always include sufficient fresh produce, protein, culturally relevant items, or specialty foods for seniors and children.
Support from donors and partners allows us to purchase additional food, fill critical gaps, and respond quickly to local needs—ensuring our neighbors receive balanced, nutritious meals year-round.
Food is distributed through our special Pop-Up Distributions, Mobile Pantry, and partner agencies.
