On Friday, December 6 2024, the South Texas Food Bank hosted it's second annual Hope for the Holidays Adopt-A-Family fundraiser dinner. It was a tremendous success thanks to the generosity and support of our community. We successfully raised enough funds to add hundreds of family to our Adopt-A-Family program. The dinner was a great night filled with laughs, games, and giveaways. Attendees even got the chance to take photos with Santa!

On Friday, April 12, 2024, the South Texas Food Bank held its 15th annual Empty Bowls presented by our title sponsor, H-E-B. Guests gathered at the Webb County Fairgrounds in their best 'denim and diamonds' attire for an evening of entertainment and charity. The event featured a spread of fine cuisine prepared by our scratch kitchen and event sponsor 2JM, an auction complete with prestige jewelry donated by our event sponsor Deutsch & Deutsch, and live music and entertainment featuring performances by Kevin Fowler, Rodger Creager, and Hayden Haddock. On Monday, March 4, 2024, the South Texas Food Bank held a press release in partnership with their Empty Bowls title sponsor, H-E-B. There the food bank shared news about their largest annual fundraising event, Empty Bowls! Details included the unveiling of the official event flyer featuring this year's musical lineup. The South Texas Food Bank hosted their day of service on Friday, Jan. 12, in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. day. Martin high school students and members of the community showed their support and celebrated the holiday, by volunteering at our facility. A big thank you to our volunteers!

Earlier today, representatives from Walmart, Bimbo Bakeries USA, and Tyson Foods presented their donation of 15,000 pounds of food to the South Texas Food Bank.
Following the presentation, the representatives took a tour and volunteered to make bags for the elderly food assistance program.
