Marketing & Development Director
Job Location: Laredo, Texas
Immediate Supervisor: CEO
Employees Supervised: 2-4 FLSA: Exempt
General Description/Position Summary
Under the general supervision of the CEO, the Director of Development & Marketing
Director will oversee, coordinate, and participate in the development of funding and marketing strategies and products for the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Professionally and personally uphold our core values of integrity, openness, honesty, accountability,

• Serve as a role model with a positive attitude and facilitate productive work environment for the
department.
• Communicate with the Executive Director and department team members on a daily basis.
• Proven leadership in resource development, fundraising, and grants management.
• A successful track record of identification, cultivation, stewardship, and solicitation of major gifts and
increased annual gifts from individuals, corporations, and foundations
• Outstanding written, verbal, public speaking, and interpersonal skills.
• Able to grow and lead a collaborative team with confidence and humility.
• Success working with a non-profit board of directors and other key stakeholders.
• Cost conscious and problem-solving approach to daily work and oversight of expenditures to include
making recommendations for changes to improve stewardship of resources.
• Experience managing and analyzing donor data to improve fundraising outcomes.
• Full computer proficiency with standard Microsoft Office programs including PowerPoint and Excel
and with fundraising and communications software.
• Develop PR campaigns and media relations strategies
• Lead creator and editor of all promotional material and publications (brochures, newsletters, videos,
social media posts etc.)
• Prepare and distribute press releases and do media interviews.
• Organize PR events (e.g. community events, press conferences) and serve as the company’s
spokesperson as needed.
• Seek opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships and advertising.
• Creating and managing comprehensive outreach and branding campaigns, that includes but not
limited to day-to-day media management, strategic planning, recommendations and overall problem-
solving associated with development and implementation of successful integrated campaigns.
• Experience with food banks and the non-profit sector favored.

• Must have a clear understanding of the ability to articulate the mission of STFB.

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in a related field.
• Valid driver’s license.
Specific to Position
• Minimum 5 years in both fundraising, marketing, and public relations experience required.
• Proven relationships with media, community and business contacts that have delivered demonstrable
results, and the personality to maximize these contacts.
• Experience managing media relations (online, broadcast and print).
• Background in researching, writing, designing, and editing different types of publications.
• Creativity and problem-solving aptitude
• Detail-oriented, organized and ability to multi-task.
• Knowledge and experience with web, graphic and multimedia preferred
• Work independently and organize office work flow.
• Dependable
• Bilingual in both English and Spanish.
