Marketing Assistant

The Marketing Assistant’s main role is to support the Development and Marketing staff with their daily operations, marketing, fundraising, and donor stewardship efforts.
Duties and Responsibilities
Support the Development and Marketing staff with

Daily office administrative tasks.
-
Executing marketing strategies and campaigns.
-
Performing market and client research.
-
Creating reports and maintaining databases.
-
Transferring paper formats into computer files or database systems.
-
Maintaining a calendar and schedules for marketing initiatives.
-
Assisting with social media and website content as needed.
-
Assisting with donor stewardship efforts.
-
Assisting with publicity and promotional efforts.
-
Assisting with fundraising efforts including sponsorship solicitation and ticket sales.
-
Attending organization events.
-
Organizing and managing marketing collateral.
Qualifications

Have a valid driver’s license
Specific to Position

Strong written and verbal communication skills

High level of organization and attention to detail

Comfort with multi-tasking in a deadline-driven environment

Understanding of basic business and marketing concepts

Ability to spot emerging trends

Familiarity with social media, social networking, email marketing and search engines

Experience with digital design

Demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills

Strong writing and copy-editing abilities

Excellent time management skills

Outgoing personality with strong interpersonal and social abilities

Must be able to approach challenges with a positive attitude

Must be eager to continue learning and challenging themselves

High School diploma or GED certificate
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or similar field, preferred.

1-2 years of experience in marketing or similar industry, required.

Must have some experience working in a customer service, sales or marketing role

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Powerpoint)
-
Demonstrated experience with social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.)
-
Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere) or a design program
-
Digital photography and video editing experience a plus
-
Must be able to work full time
-
Must be able to work evening and Saturdays, as needed
-
Minimal travel outside Webb County may be required
-
Must be comfortable sharing an office space
-
Must comply with the company dress code
-
Bilingual in both English and Spanish.
Working Conditions

While this job is mostly indoors, there will be some required outdoor activities

Must also be able to lift 10-15 lbs
