Empty Bowls Volunteers

VOLUNTEER SCHEDULE

Location: Webb County Fairgrounds (HWY 59)

Friday, April 14th - SET-UP DAY (Ages 14+)

9:30 A.M. - 12 noon

12 noon - 1 P.M. - Lunch (meal not provided)

1:00 P.M. - 3:00 P.M.

 

Saturday, April 15th - EVENT

4:00 P.M. - 10 P.M.

 

Tentative Shift Times*

Parking lot volunteers: 5 P.M. - 9 P.M.

Kitchen volunteers: 4:00 P.M. - 9 P.M.

Pavilion/dinner event volunteers: 5 P.M. -10 P.M.

Gate/fairground volunteers: 6 P.M. - 9 or 10 P.M.

 

*All times may be subject to change.

Volunteers will get 30 min. breaks every 2 hrs. in rotation

The food bank will provide a meal and water for volunteers.

All volunteers need to fill out applications and sign waivers.

 

Please note:

  • This is going both an indoor and outdoor evening event.

  • Alcohol will be served at this event.

  • Volunteers may be asked to help with raffle ticket sales.

  • Wear comfortable shoes and clothes.

  • Please keep accessories to a minimum.

  • In accordance with the ADA, please let the event coordinator if you need special accommodations before the event.

Liability Notices:

  • Minors (Under 18) can only volunteer at the Pavilion, front gate or lighted areas.

  • Kitchen volunteers need to be there between 4 P.M. and 4:30 P.M.

  • Only volunteers 17+ can work the parking lot area 

  • Unaccompanied minors need to leave by 10 P.M.

  • No volunteers under the age of 14 or 15.

  • Volunteers working the parking lot and/or fairgrounds need to wear either a safety vest or reflective tape.

  • Other than the necessary, do not bring expensive items. The South Texas Food Bank is not responsible for any lost or damaged items.
