2020 has been a very difficult time for people and industries across the board.

The livelihood of many of our fellow South Texans has been jeopardized. In this time of dire need, the South Texas Food Bank has risen to the occasion. Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the food bank staff and volunteers have been on the frontlines, working an average of three mass distributions per week, distributing thousands of pounds to families and individuals in need.

As of September 2020, the food bank has distributed 16 million pounds of food across their eight-county service area. This is the most food the South Texas Food Bank has ever distributed in its 30-year history! We have served 300% more families than at this time last year.
